Image: A Beautiful Feminine Divine Portrayal (Tuareg Woman) by Leslie Clark
It has been posed
It has been alleged
And so it shall be said:
If my penchant sits on matriarchal forms
Invalidating all relegating forms,
If disturbing the peace of objectification and commodifications
and interrogating subjectifications,
If vehemently refuting women-object ill representations
and insidious misogynistic implications,
If lamenting on ignorance that has made Her inconsequential,
If howling over battered bodies made invisible,
If I retort at detractors who claim miniskirts are the blame
of stolen innocence,
If plugging the world to power stolen,
If honouring the feminine divinity stolen,
If giving relevance to Her
the focus of spiritual seekers and all-others around Her,
If knowing the radiant sun that raises every morning,
If knowing the virgin warrior Goddess of the morning,
If treasuring my precious sensual parts of sexuality,
If paying tribute to the womb
the profound carrier to deliver with no qualms,
If knowing my equal man, bowing to his Kingly manifestations,
If knowing my gentle interior, of wisdom and mercy,
If honouring the full mature depth of what it is to be human, the divine reality,
Then I must confess:
I am a feminist.
This is no coincidence only providence.
